Green Festival

Producing an event of this size demands close attention to the festival’s enviornmentality, which we develop further each year. Festival-goers are in a key position to make a difference by small gestures, thus minimizing the festival’s burden on the environment. Here are a few eco-friendly festival tips:

  • Food. Go veggie! Vegetarian food is a considerably smaller strain on the environment than food containing meat. There will be over 50 different cuisines from all around the world, so satisfying one’s appetite with delicious vegetarian options should be easy.
  • Transportation. Leave your car at home! Kaisaniemi Park and the Railway Square will be crowded during the festival weekend. Driving and finding a parking space will be difficult. We recommend that guests leave their cars at home and come by public transportation, on bike or by foot.
  • Waste. Use the trash bins and recycle! The festival has an excellent and effective waste sorting system. Our recycling facilities have separate bins for different types of waste, as well as friendly recycling assistants to provide information on waste sorting.
  • Water. Bring your own water bottle! It’s important to drink enough water on a warm day, and carrying one’s own bottle is more eco-friendly than using paper or plastic cups. There are two water points on the festival grounds where bottles can be re-filled.
  • Take action. World Village Festival provides a great opportunity to familiarize oneself and get involved with the environmental activities of various organizations. Information, practical tips, and new ideas are easy to find at the festival.
  • Spread the word. By telling your friends and following these tips yourself, you are making this festival more enjoyable for everyone and helping create a more eco-friendly event.
