Mekong Stage, Railway Square
SAT 29.5.2010 14:30-15:00, Mekong Stage, Railway Square

What is an ordinary day like for a Namibian and Finnish female entrepreneur? Where do they get their business ideas, capital and markets? Should the entrepreneur take responsibility for the surrounding community as well? Tuomas Forsell will interview Twapewa Mudjanima, a Namibian entrepreneur and Taina Snellman, the founder of Tikau in Finland.

Twapewa Mudjanima is a pioneer in the field of beauty salons, employing dozens of Namibian women. She has also created a cosmetics brand, based on local materials. Furthermore, Mudjanima is a member of the economic consulting team of the President of Namibia.

Taina Snellman has founded Tikau, a shop specializing in hand-made accessories and interior decoration supplies made in rural India. Tikau’s concept combines Nordic design and sustainable development and it employs rural craftspeople and small-scale producers.
