Gaza Mom: Laila El-Haddad is Palestinian journalist, writer and media activist based between Gaza and the United States, who became known internationally as she wrote her Gaza Mom blog during the Gaza war.

She writes principally for the al-Jazeera English website and the Guardian Unlimited. “A lot of Palestinian blogs attempt to be very politicised, and I guess the point of mine was to show you didn’t need to exert any effort: politics was a part of everyday life for Palestinians," she says. “Occupation was very invasive, down to what kind of diapers were available for you to change your son that particular week."

Diary of a Palestinian mother: "I am a Palestinian from Gaza City. I am a journalist. I am a blogger. I am a mother. I am a Muslim. I am a Media Activist. This blog is about the trials of raising my children between spaces and identities; displacement and occupation; and everything that entails from potty training to border crossings."
