UrJazz, founded in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2009, is a young band with strong ambitions. In UrJazz's music, Nepalese folk and Hindustani influences meet with jazz and flamenco rhythms, resulting in titillating jazz fusion. Touring diligently in Nepal, this sextet is planning a European tour. ’Urja’ means ’energy’ in Nepalese, and there will definitely be plenty of it in the air when this band takes the stage accompanied by Finnish jazz musician Kalevi Louhivuori.
