Tessa Virta will grace the Savannah Stage on Saturday with her group of frontline Finnish musicians. The audience will be treated to a varied set of World Music from samba and bossa nova from South America, Fado from Portugal, forlorn tunes from Cap Verde, with some Finnish nostalgia thrown in the mix. 

Tessa Virta embarked on a solo career in 2003, and has since performed at festivals, concerts and other events. In 2004 she released her first album, Um Poeta - runoilija, and her second album, Punainen Sävellys, is set for release this September.

Tessa Virta's music is riddled with strong, beautiful melodies, which find their roots in the swinging rhythms of the home country of jazz and bossa nova.
