Western Sahara territory and its people have been illegally occupied by Moroccan forces since 1975. More than 150 000 people live in the refugee camps in Algeria. International politics turns a blind eye on the occupation and human rights violations by Morocco, and trade objectives rule. What about Finland and its positioning in the EU?
Mohamed Abdelaziz is Secretary General of the Polisario, a West Saharan national liberation movement. He is also the President of SADR (Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic). He is joined by Maima Mahmud Break, representative of the Polisario national liberation movement, living in Helsinki, MEP Heidi Hautala and Member of Finnish Parliament, Kimmo Kiljunen for this panel.
