Grammy-winner and one of the world’s most known masters of Persian music, Kayan Kalhor, will produce a one-of-a-kind and rare virtual setar concert for World Village Festival.

Kalhor, who is highly acclaimed and known for his mastery of traditional Persian instruments, has traveled all over his home country bringing together musical traditions from different regions. He is known as one of the original members in the Silk Road Project, founded by world famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma, which brings together artists from different cultures in the spirit of collaboration and learning. The Silk Road Project received a Grammy award in 2017. Kalhor has also toured the world with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

Kayan Kalhor has performed in Finland before in 2019 at the Womex world music festival in Tampere. He was awarded the well regarded Womex Artist Award for his lifetime achievement in promoting Persian music and helping to preserve Persian music traditions.
