World Village Festival 2019 marks the festival’s 20th iteration. The main theme of the jubilee year is climate change. The festival returns to Kaisaniemi Park and Railway Square in Helsinki for 25–26 May.
The first World Village Festival was held in 1995, organised every other year at first and annually since 2006. This makes the 2019 festival number twenty – a special celebration is in order.
The festival’s main theme in 2019 is climate change, which will be tackled through discussions and interviews, documentaries, concerts and exhibitions. To top it off, over 400 exhibitors are set to participate.
One of the theme villages on Railway Square is dedicated entirely to the topic of climate change. In Climate Village, organisations of all kinds show the work they’re doing to fight climate change and spread knowledge about climate justice.
