The films of documentarian and activist Iara Lee have dealt with a wide range of topics ranging from the West Saharan independence movement to Pakistani mountaineers and the artists of Burkina Faso. In 2010, Lee also participated in the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, which was forcefully stopped by Israeli soldiers.
