The island states of the Pacific rise again to fight for their traditions and existence. In addition to their struggle against colonialism, climate change rises as the next challenge.
A documentary film produced by the Cultures of Resistance network takes the viewer to Melanesia, where the sea level rise caused by global warming threatens to swallow the islands of the area. Through their performances, local performance artists try to call out to the international community to pay attention to the distress of the islands.
After the film in a Maailman Kuvalehti interview, the director Iara Lee talks about the context of the film.
